Trunnion repair

Komatsu bulldozer frame trunnion repair. Trunnions were worn out and oval. We built up the outer diameter with four layers of weld then turned them on the lathe to fit the caps. We had to bore out the center hole and machine a tapered plug to be able to use the tailstock for support.

Hub

A new hub that joins a diesel engine to a hydraulic motor.

Vial holder

A tool to hold a Covid testing vial, turned out of 304 stainless steel

“T” bolts

Tig welding 20 “T” bolts for custom fuel tank straps. I fabricated a jig to hold the pieces in place so they are all the same.

Box Mounting Bracket

Made a fuse box mounting bracket for a 2001 Sterling truck. Part is discontinued and no longer available. Turned out good, fits perfectly. The fuse box is no longer hanging by a wire. If the part you need is discontinued or back-ordered, call Saxon Metalworks, we can custom make one for you.

Industrial repairs

Replaced steel rods on a vac truck float. Machined out worn center of steel rollers, machined bushings to press in and new pins.

Custom table legs. 30 feet of 3/8 steel rod, 32 feet of 3/16 steel rod, 216 welds. Design inspired by a suspension bridge.

Antique lamp shade

An extremely fragile antique lamp shade in need of repair. After removing the glass panels, I removed the failed JB Weld then made a fixture to hold the frame in the proper shape. I then soldered it in 4 places, touched up the paint and very carefully reinstalled the glass.
